Who can seek counselling services?Anyone who is struggling with a personal concern can seek counselling. Grace Collective is happy to support anyone at any point during their healing journey. We aim to meet you where you are so that you do not have to walk the journey alone Grace Collective can offer counselling services to individuals Canadawide when working with a counsellor whom is registered through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.

What can I talk about in counselling?You can talk about anything that is on your mind – counselling is a safe space for you to bring anything you feel you need to discuss or to help you process any difficulties you may be facing.

Is counselling at Grace Collective confidential?Yes, what you say to your counsellor is confidential and all of our staff adhere to a code of conduct and policies regarding confidentiality. Information you provide with use will not be shared with a third party other than in exceptional circumstances such as safeguarding issues or if required by law.

Can I contact my counsellor between sessions?Grace Collective does not provide emergency services. Should you need assistance after hours, you may leave a message and we will return your call within 24 hours on business days. In an emergency, you may call the crisis line: 1-800-784-2433 (suicide crisis line) or 310-6789 (mental health support). You may also seek help by calling 911.

How long will my counselling last?The duration of counselling therapy depends on the client's presenting goals. Goals can change throughout treatment. However, once the client's goals are achieved, the counsellor and client will move towards closing therapy sessions.

Are there any risks to counselling therapy?There are potential risks to engaging in counselling. The counselling process can surface painful memories, emotions, and belief systems, which can sometimes feel overwhelming. Process can feel slow due to the deconstruction and rebuilding of certain topics. Progress, however, is fostered through counsellor and client collaboration, strong communication, honesty, dedication to the process, and personal ownership during and outside of counselling sessions.

How will I be contacted and reminded about appointments?Reminders for your appointments are sent via text and/or email. There may also be times that Grace Collective will need to contact you by text, email or phone. Please be aware of your privacy in regards to messages and the inherent risks in electronic communication.
